Boxer (short coat) : : Senior
Contact Linus' Caretaker/Foster Directly: Jodi Jalowitz Brown (jjalowitz@gmail.com) Hello! My name is Linus (well my new name is Linus...I had a name before but I was turned in by someone to a shelter in Missouri and was considered a “stray” without my own name.) My foster family just lost their 11 year old boxer, Charlie Brown, so they wanted to name me in memory of him! I even am so special that I get to wear this collar. Foster mom keeps saying I remind her so much of Charlie. I am “needy” for attention and will paw at you if you stop petting me and I still want attention! I feel a little shy talking about myself, so I’ll leave it to my foster mom.
Foster mom here! Linus is TALL, DARK, & HANDSOME! I can’t believe how WONDERFUL his personality is as well. He is a DREAM. He walks nice on leash, is excellent in crate, loves to cuddle, is great with our three dogs (three females- boxer mix, bulldog, and pug boxer mix). He was said to be indifferent to cats in his shelter. He came to us in Wisconsin from Missouri, where he was in the shelter for 40 days. He was a stray and was being treated for kennel cough. He is neutered and is up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. When he first arrived he was shaking his head so much and licking at his bum. The nice vet did an ear cytology and there was not an infection so it is believed to be allergies. He may need allergy testing in the future of be on allergy medicine or shots to control the allergies and keep him comfortable. His back legs have some muscle wasting and he has some kennel sores, but with some exercise and backyard play, he should build up better strength in those back legs. We do not know his age but best guess is 6 or 7 as his teeth are in good condition and he does not have that much grey. He has a lump that will be removed in April and sent in for pathology.
He likes to play with toys and can be playful but also likes to just relax and cuddle.
Please someone apply to adopt this guy so I don’t foster fail! You can’t meet him and not fall in love. I dare you!
