UPDATE from foster mom 7/8: Foxy has been with us for 2 weeks now and is coming out of her shell. She is such a sweet girl that wants to be loved by foster mom or resident dog around. She is a cuddle bug that will lay on the couch with you or sleep by your head in bed if you let her. She is learning that she gets up when her foster mom gets up and not before, unless she has to potty. She is learning to play with the resident dog after many attempts on his part. He would bring her a toy and drop it in front of her and wiggle hoping she would play with it or him. She is learning to use a magnetic screen for the deck but likes when either the resident dog goes first or her foster mom holds it for her. We are working on commands like sit, down, off, leave it, and heal. Stay will be the hardest because of her need to be near her human at all times. She has accomplished getting through the baby gate if I do not put it up correctly, I normally just lean it against the wall and she is no longer scared of it falling to get by it, due to being more afraid of not being by her human. We currently try to walk three times a day about half a mile each time, depending on the weather, to help her get used to noise and city life. She does well, no pulling just will stop to smell or potty with no warning as she walks beside or a bit behind you. I just tell her to "heal" or if needed a slight pull on the leash and a "leave it" if she is smelling too long or should not be smelling something. If she is pottying I wait and tell her "go girl". She is not a fast walker but she does get excited to go and will jump if you let her. She will not go out the door without the leash or being hooked to a lead at this time either.
She is still working on noises that scare her. When this happens I mark the with "Yes, Good Girl" and she will look at me and I will smile to show her it is alright. Right now as I type this I am getting a new furnace and ac unit in the basement and outside. They have been here for over 4 hours and she was only concerned twice. Once when they first came and I left her and my boy up stairs and second, when they were pounding to get the old furnace out. Since then they both have been sleeping on the dog bed by my desk.
She will be a great dog with some love and patience and another dog to show her the way.

______________________________________________

Hello everyone! My name is Foxy and I just got out of a breeding farm after having way too many puppies. Needless to say, I am a bit saggy in the tummy and my butt is kind of broad, but it just means I was a very good momma to all my puppies. Now I am retired and looking for someone to share my time and love with. I am a sweet girl ... just a bit needy right  now. I am craving all the human family time I missed in my early years. I am still getting used to living in a house. I am not use to the sounds and smells coming from my foster home. Things still scare me, but I find if I follow the other dog that lives in the house I am less afraid. I wanted to sniff the pretty kitty, but she hissed at me and high-tailed it back to my crate. I am good in a crate, it is a safe place for me. I have not had one potty accident in the house but I don't know how to tell my foster mom that I need to go out -- she just lets me out a lot to be sure I get the hang of it. I met a ittle boy that comes to visit and I loved him! Anyway, I have lots to figure out yet so please check back on my progress in a week or two. It would be great to meet you if you like mature, soft and saggy boxer ladies.
