3/7 UPDATE:

Guss is a very easy going guy. At 10 years old, he does like to sleep a lot. He loves going for a walk or should I say run! I have a hard time keeping up with him. Guss still has lots of energy for a 10 yr old. A family that can take him running or on multiple walks a day would be best.
Due to a lifetime of chronic ear infections, Guss is pretty much deaf now. He also has a little trouble with nighttime vision, but is great during the day! For food, he does need to stay clear of any chicken products.
Guss is an awesome dog! He is quiet unless you try to enclose him while you are gone. He is a good boy and does not get into anything left out. I recommend a home where there is someone home with him most of the day. He is good with kids 6+. Unless you are willing to keep a close eye on younger toddlers, I don’t recommend any younger than 6.
Guss does not believe in personal space. He will get right into your face to say hi to people and other dogs. He is great with dogs, but loves cats too much and would be best in a cat-free home.

Gus is a very easy going guy. At 10 years old, he does like to sleep a lot. He loves going for a walk or should I say run! I have a hard time keeping up with him. We have had him 2 weeks now and he is starting to settle a bit. He has night blindness in his right eye from scarring over his cornea but I believe it also affects his vision all the time.

We are currently figuring out if he has food allergies or if his issues were due to poor environment. I have him on whitefish and ancient grains and there are no problems itching. He does have a large red spot on his neck the vet believes is from long-term chain collar use. It may never look any better or regrow hair. He is currently getting medicated washes on his neck and genital area to help clear the bacterial infections from constant irritation. It is a slow process so far.

Gus is mostly deaf. That means he can hear loud whistles or loud bangs. Loud speaking seems to get no response. Gus does not believe in personnel space. He will get right into your face to say hi to people and other dogs. He loves crawling all over our bulldog/boxer Reese.

Potential new owners will need to take time to do slow introductions and patience with him. After 2 weeks his anxiety and pacing are just starting to lesson.
