Tito is a soon to be 12-year-old southern gentleman from Texas who had spent his entire life with one family until there was a death that turned everyone’s life upside down.

Tito is a “tall drink of water” who has his own kind of swagger when he comes into a room. When he greets you with his wiggle, his entire body moves with happiness. He has great eye contact and can make a person melt when he looks at you with his white eyelashes and soulful eyes. He will seek out your attention by burying his head into your lap, nudging your hand to pet him or sit on your feet just in case you have not noticed him yet. He does like to be by his people no matter where you are. Kitchen, office, outside or wherever, he is there as your shadow. He has found that the bathroom is a great place for him to get some much-needed attention. He will accept redirection when underfoot to move or leave the area if cued. Tito enjoys going in the back yard and hanging out and comes immediately when his name is called, he has no issue with his hearing.

Since arriving in Minnesota Tito has shown his foster family that he loves going on walks, he rides well is a car and gets along well with the resident dog as well as his backyard fence friend and has met the other male white boxer in the neighborhood without incident. He attended an adoption event where there were several male and female boxers of various ages and he was 100% the gentleman he is with no problems at all. While walking around the pet store he briefly met a yorkie and lab puppy, he said hello and moved along. He was affectionate with all the strange people coming up to greet and pet him, men, women, and children, he loved them all. He can hop both in and out of an SUV on his own and navigates the 3 steps to get in or out of his foster home with no issues. He has not shown any interest in going down the flight of stairs to the lower level of our home at this time.

Tito has been to the vet and they found him healthy for his age. He started on joint supplements as soon as he arrived in his foster home for possible arthritis in his back legs. Tito might be a little bit stiff when he first stands up (who isn’t?) but he can handle and enjoys going on long walks, running in the yard, jumping when playing and boxing. When excited he will “talk” and tell you to hurry up! He has not attempted to get on any furniture. He will put his front paws on the couch and stand on his back legs to give you a hug. He was used to sleeping on the floor by the bed in his previous home, but he seems to like sleeping on a comfy dog bed in the living room in his foster home since he does not want to go downstairs.

Tito needs reminders when outside to go “potty”. Sometimes he goes a little and will come inside only to turn around and go back out again and go more. Or he will relieve himself several times.

Tito’s teeth are pretty worn down and his breath is not the greatest, but well worth tolerating when he give you his sweet kisses. Tito tends to lick up his food when eating, he does not seem to chew. Currently his kibble is soaked and sits for a little while, so it is softer for him, and canned food is added. FYI his worn teeth or lack of chewing does not stop this guy from enjoying treats, they have no problem disappearing when offered. He is a sloppy drinker and does better with food and water in a raised bowl. Tito was only 64lbs at the vet’s office, so he can stand to put on a few pounds, but his weight should be monitored because if he gains too much weight his joints might start to hurt. At this time he does not appear to be in any pain at all.

Tito is a sweet, gentle dog that just wants your love and attention. I have no doubt that anyone who welcomes Tito into their family will receive all the love and attention back from him 100 times over. He deserves to find his forever as soon as possible to minimize any further heartbreak to his beautiful soul. You simply cannot go wrong with this guy.
