UPDATE 8/18 Bacon, now Baxter: Baxter has been in an adopted home but was returned. It was not the right fit for him and the adopter made the correct choice. Baxter has been in a board and train situation. He does not have a lot of confidence at this time. He is working on "going to his place" when people are going to come over. Baxter is doing well and has improved a great deal. He doesn't not make friends with men easily and prefers to just ignore them. He needs a home that will respect that decision. Baxter is a sweet boy to his foster mom and is looking for someone that can just let him be a household companion.

After visiting with Baxter and talking more with the behaviorist that has been working with him, Baxter is more like a cat in personality than a typical boxer. He prefers to intitiate any kind of close time with his human and tends to tire of too much affection. At that point he will walk away and spend some down time in his crate or on his cot. Baxter is a wonderful dog that just wants to hang around, spend some time with his human, and then go to his quiet place. He will never be a dog that should be around chaos or commotion. No young children as they move to quickly and make too much noise. But if you live a calm and quiet life and will not expect your dog to be close friends with everyone, then Baxter is your guy.
