This is Chicka, one of our newer intakes. Her foster/adoptive mom has changed her name to Mabel Chicken McNugget. Foster mom had some help from the grandkids. Mabel has a lot of medical issues going on. We are not even sure of her age, but the shelter estimated at least 10 years old. Her feet seemed to have a lot of callouses on them and her toenails were just about growing into them. Turns out the “callouses” are actually calcified feces. So her new mama is soaking her feet, putting antibiotics on them, and wrapping them. She has a long road to recovery but will be loved and supported unconditionally. Our little Chicken Nugget is worth it!
Special Needs: Grade III heart murmur; Mouth and foot infections; Growth on tail; high PH and crystals in urine |
