UPDATE 12/12 -- Zen has developed into a wonderful, easy going, family pet. She is a super cuddler. Zen is a velcro dog and goes from room to room with me. In my office she lays by my feet or on my feet and keeps them warm. Zen has been great with every dog she meets. It doesn't take much now for her to greet people and feel comfortable. Zen recently started doing zoomies in the back yard and acting very playful in the house.

From the Foster Mom -- Zen has been so easy to take care of.  She does have quirks:)  She is a total velcro dog and follows me everywhere.  Really bonds to her "person".

When meeting new people, she is very timid.  My mom and dad arrived here yesterday, she did not want to go near them, even if they had a treat.  She is slowly warming up to them today, but still very timid toward them.  I am sure tomorrow will be challenging with 10 people at my house, I will probably give her a Trazodone before everyone arrives.  I was walking her down the block to potty and a neighbor came out and we were talking a bit and she would not go near him.

When walking, she does walk well. She tends to like to walk on the right side of me.  And then of course crosses to the left side to potty. We met a dog one time and she actually did very good meeting the dog (male dog).  Shen we are walking on the street of my neighborhood and a car drives by she will totally stop and watch it and will not move. Usually the same when people walk by us. Strange thing is when we are walking the walking path along West Fish Lake Road - she is fine with the cars going by, it is just when walking on the neighborhood street.

She has been doing well in the crate with the trazodone.  Sunday will be the longest time - about 4 hours.  So far, it has only been about 2 to 2 1/2 hours I have been gone. I watch her on video, she stand or sits and watches the door for a while, but then does lay down. I make a marrow bone (which I will send with her) for her with peanut butter around the edge that I put treats onto to the peanut butter - she loves this. I toss a few treats in the crate and the marrow bone and she usually will go in. Sometimes she needs a little nudge, but always goes in. She sleeps well at night in a crate in my room. I have no idea how she would be if she is in a crate in a different room at night.

Whoever adopts her will need to be patient with her when first meeting. Zen can be very timid.
