Looking for a diamond in the RUFF?

Diamond, who prefers to be called Diamond Jewel came into rescue mid September from a small pound in Ohio. Her owner surrendered her due to financial difficulties. She was reported good with all animals from her owner and to want to be close to her owners.  She had some skin issues and a few broken teeth and some gross growths removed from her tail (non-cancer).

Since being in rescue, we have gotten her all healthy! She is a HUGE lover. She LOVES to be close and cuddle. She often wants to be a lapdog with her whole body or at least half her body. Diamond gets so excited for and loves to go on walks. She does need to work on walking better on on leash. I think she would be a great running or hiking partner because she loves it so much. She likes to pull and I’m not sure if it is that she use to be walked on an extendable leash or not walked at all on leash because she speeds up,  slows down, speeds up, slows down. It is kind of funny but she does need to work on her walking skills  She doesn’t want her walk to be over. When we get back to the house she sulks her head and doesn’t want to go back inside!

She can get excited and playful (as well as be vocal during those playful times) but mostly likes to be a couch potato and content to snuggle up.

She does NOT like the crate.  She is pretty good left out in the house with Charlie the dog and Charlie the cat. She WILL get stuff off the counter if you leave it, so you’ll need to be aware of that and puppy proof your house.

She gets Benadryl twice a day for being a little itchy. At the beginning her skin was bad and I had to give her medicated baths.  She would benefit for semi regular medicated baths.  She is about 8 or 9 years old and weighs about 56-57 pounds..

She LOVES her belly rubbed and to roll around on her back and be silly. Who wants real diamonds when you can adopt the biggest sweetest Diamond around?
