![]() "Under a year of loving you, but enough love and laughter to fill up the earth ten times. My sweet old lady crossed the bridge to the side where all my other loves are waiting to welcome her - Lola, Frankie, Samson and all the thousands of animals I’ve loved in this life. It never gets easier. It never feels right. It’s never an easy decision. It’s never the right time. Grace, it was my absolute pleasure to be loved by you. Please remind the rest of the zoo how much I loved them and how much we still talk about them here on this side of the Bridge. Run free my sweet old angel." ![]() "We were with Zoey all day, every day. She had quite a routine. Went with Tom for a ride around the farm every morning and then on a long walk with me! She developed a lump on her back that turned out to be cancer. Zoey just went to sleep in my arms and was no longer in pain." Tom & Mary ![]() February 12th we lost our sweet Grant very suddenly. We only had the pleasure of loving Grant for 8 months, but he had left a big hole in our hearts. Grant was the definition of a velcro dog. There was nowhere I went without him beside me - including climbing in the tub to supervise while I was changing the shower curtain. Grant was the second Senior we adopted and even though neither was with us long enough, we would never second guess our decision to adopt a Senior dog. We are very grateful to RCBR for choosing us to be Grants’ parents; he is deeply missed and will never be forgotten. ![]() Dinah was an old gal brought to RCBR in January, 2020. She had strength issues with her back legs and seizures that required daily meds. It was expected that she would be a permanent hospice foster. Then along came Dick and Jeanie, who were looking for a senior companion for their senior Lab. They wanted a hospice case. Dinah's back legs actually were doing so much better with regular walks that after meeting with Dick and Jeanie, it was decided to move her there. They adopted her on Apr 20th. Unfortunately, she passed away on January 18th. She absolutely loved their Lab, and you couldn’t separate the two. Jeanie just adored her little ‘pattycake' Dinah who loved going for walks with her new dad and cuddling with him at home. Jeanie really wanted to write a memorial but sadly their senior Lab is not doing so well without his buddy. Don’t worry….. Dinah will be waiting at the Bridge for you. ![]() "He was a determined sweetheart. He had such difficulty walking with his bad rear leg but he never let it stop him from following us around all day. We would find ourselves stopping in the middle of our chores just so he would sit with us and rest awhile . His eyes would find yours just to say thanks for your love, thanks for your help thanks for rescuing me. We were lucky enough to share Amos’s last weeks but it wasn’t even close to enough. We will miss that sweet soul." From RCBR:A special thank you to his foster family for rushing to get him out of the shelter knowing he would probably be hospice and for including him as part of your precious family.
