Zeke
ZEKE (fka WALTER) - 11/19/2023 Zeke (fka Walter) was a handsome, kind souled, velcro buddy.  He so loved little kids and giving hugs. He and his fur sister, JD,  spent their days wrestling and chasing each other around.  Zeke went into Mr. Protector mode as soon as children were around, herding them to "safety"; much to their chagrin.  Wherever his momma was, there was Zeke.  He was the sweetest, most gentle boy! Till we see each other again Zeker.

Zeus
20 days. Zeus knew love for his last 20 days. Zeus was owner surrendered to a shelter in Texas due to his massive growths all over his body, especially the bowling ball-sized one on his hind leg. Rejection Collection Boxer Rescue and Passport for Paws worked together to free him from the shelter, foster him and transport him to MN. Ultimately, it decided it was in his best interest to help him cross the bridge, where he would be pain-free. Being a senior and special needs rescue, sometimes we only have a very limited amount of time with the dogs. Part of our mission is to get those dogs out of the shelter environment so they only know love in their final days. Mission accomplished.

Ziggy
When I first saw Ziggy on the website, I wasn’t looking for another dog. I was looking for a friend who lost his dog earlier in the year. Ziggy was much too big for my friend, so I kept looking for him, but I just couldn’t get Ziggy out of my head. I’d keep on looking on the website to see if someone adopted the big boy. Nobody had. Finally, I just couldn’t stand it no more. He needed a home, Lolly my other rescue boxer, needed a playmate and I needed another friend. Ziggy was the perfect gentle giant. Just so sweet and loving. He was super laid back and chill and just went with the flow. Lolly and him became best friends instantly. He didn’t mind her excited energy and she didn’t mind his laid back style. Yin and Yang if you will. They would play and play in the back yard chasing each other around and around and then they would lay together and sometimes lay on each other lovingly. I’d even catch them giving each other kisses every once in awhile. I am so honored to have had Ziggy in my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better companion for me and for Lolly. He was a big boy, but his heart was even bigger and I know we’ll miss him dearly.

Zoey
Sweet Miss Zoey (9 years old) was brought from Michigan with her bonded brother, Koda. Zoey was in pretty rough shape with a golf ball-sized mass on her paw, lumps and bumps all over, and a terrible mouth. There were no vet records and it was very clear that the vet was not somewhere the previous family frequented. They were very dirty, pretty stinky and their collars were likely the ones they had their entire lives. Despite all of this, Zoey and Koda were the sweetest duo! Zoey had to be touching us at all times. If she was on our lap, her face had to be right in our face too, cheek to cheek! She absolutely adored our son, Brecken. Every night she would jump into bed with Brecken for story time. I could never get her to leave. She would have slept there all night if he had let her. Knowing now that she was covered in cancer just amazes me because she never once let on that she was in pain or uncomfortable up until the very last couple of days. She still wagged her nub, curled up next to us in bed, and ran around the backyard with the whole gang. Zoey participated in barking at the neighbors and dogs that walked by and even got the zoomies a few times. We only had her for a little over two weeks but in that short time, she stole our whole hearts. Holding her paws and hugging her while she crossed the bridge, we promised we would continue to love her brother, Koda. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Zoey
"We were with Zoey all day, every day. She had quite a routine. Went with Tom for a ride around the farm every morning and then on a long walk with me! She developed a lump on her back that turned out to be cancer. Zoey just went to sleep in my arms and was no longer in pain." Tom & Mary
