Gertrude (Gertie)
From an Alabama kill shelter to Ohio....stopping for her freedom burger along the way.... she was perfect. Loved every single person she met. Enjoyed other dogs and napping in the sun. She was loved from the moment she got into her chariot to start her new life. Her passing was unexpected. Going in for a mass removal and going into respiratory arrest due to a mass on her epiglottis. There never seems to be enough time to prepare for saying goodbye.

Major
Major was saved from a shelter in Texas, where he was fostered by a wonderful family with his new best friend, a little girl named Sophie. He was then transported to Minnesota to his forever foster family, with his newest best friend, a little girl named Sophia. Major saw a neurologist in both Texas and Minnesota, and had many tests done. He suffered from almost continuous head tremors, and was quickly losing function in parts of his body. We were hoping the tests would show he had something we could fix, but unfortunately, that was not the case. He was diagnosed with neurodegenerative disease, subarachnoid diverticula, and kidney disease. There was no cure, and things would only get worse. We loved on Major and kept him comfortable until he told us it was time. Major has now crossed the bridge and is able to run wild and free with the use of all his legs! He can now play with ALL the squeaky toys whenever he wants! Our hearts are shattered, but we are forever grateful to have known this little boy with the huge personality ❤️

Mavis
Mavis was found as a stray in Kentucky. She had some vision impairment, was full of ticks, and had a host of many other medical issues. She was cared for and loved in an amazing foster home for 13 glorious days before she was helped over the Bridge. Run wild and pain-free, Mavis!

Morti
Old man Morti loved a soft bed and warm sunshine. Old Man Morti, Mr Morti, Mortimer, Morti Moo, but mostly my love, passed away from old age and some senior issues he was dealing with. When he finally woke up after 15 hours of sleep, he could not stand, walk, or balance at all. Like the gentlemen he was he waited for us to carry him outside and hold him in place while he peed. His head was bobbing and his eyes flickering from side to side. Morti came to me as a foster but we adopted him so he was part of a family and had his own people who loved him dearly. Run fast and free my perfect one. I will take in another and give him your bed, blankets, good food, fresh water, lots of love, and that patch of sunshine you loved so much. Lucy, Rick, and Rose

Norman
Norman came to us (October 26th) from North Carolina. He was found in a state park and brought to a local vet clinic. He tested positive for Lyme disease and was treated. For two months they tried to find local rescue or adoption with no success. A nice boxer lady knew about the new rescue that was focusing on senior boxers and reached out. RCBR sad “Yes, he is our kind of guy!” Unfortunately Norman passed after a week with his foster mom but he left knowing the love of a family.
