Angel crossed the bridge 1/29/2024 What can I say about my sweet Angel? She arrived on a day that I had a broken sad heart. I had just put my Bassett hound down that day. I was set to foster “Snow'' that day and decided to proceed with the placement anyway. “Snow '' quickly became “Angel” (because that is exactly what she was) and I knew she was sent to me to help me heal. I knew immediately that this beautiful girl was “home”. She was the most gentle soul and she loved everyone. She had a special bond with my grandson, even before he was born, as she laid her head on his mamas belly often. That bond remained until her last day and he still is asking me where she is. She had the 9 lives of a cat and had rallied numerous times when I thought it was her last day. She told me it was time a month ago and now I have a broken sad heart again. I loved this sweet soul with my whole being and my poor blind lab curls up in her “way too small bed” every night mourning her loss. Fly high sweet girl-I loved you best. ZEKE (fka WALTER) - 11/19/2023 Zeke (fka Walter) was a handsome, kind souled, velcro buddy. He so loved little kids and giving hugs. He and his fur sister, JD, spent their days wrestling and chasing each other around. Zeke went into Mr. Protector mode as soon as children were around, herding them to "safety"; much to their chagrin. Wherever his momma was, there was Zeke. He was the sweetest, most gentle boy! Till we see each other again Zeker. Sweet Miss Zoey (9 years old) was brought from Michigan with her bonded brother, Koda. Zoey was in pretty rough shape with a golf ball-sized mass on her paw, lumps and bumps all over, and a terrible mouth. There were no vet records and it was very clear that the vet was not somewhere the previous family frequented. They were very dirty, pretty stinky and their collars were likely the ones they had their entire lives. Despite all of this, Zoey and Koda were the sweetest duo! Zoey had to be touching us at all times. If she was on our lap, her face had to be right in our face too, cheek to cheek! She absolutely adored our son, Brecken. Every night she would jump into bed with Brecken for story time. I could never get her to leave. She would have slept there all night if he had let her. Knowing now that she was covered in cancer just amazes me because she never once let on that she was in pain or uncomfortable up until the very last couple of days. She still wagged her nub, curled up next to us in bed, and ran around the backyard with the whole gang. Zoey participated in barking at the neighbors and dogs that walked by and even got the zoomies a few times. We only had her for a little over two weeks but in that short time, she stole our whole hearts. Holding her paws and hugging her while she crossed the bridge, we promised we would continue to love her brother, Koda. Rest in peace, sweet girl. From the foster family: Percival/Percy was wonderful, very loyal, great guardian, fun, playful, sweet loving, gentle, kind and a big beautiful goofball! He loved car rides, playing, fishing, being with us, meeting new people and lounging. He was one of the best companions we've had the honor & pleasure of knowing and being with (foster). Percy very quickly & in a very short amount of time became an important extremely loved, part of our family. Percy is in a better place now at the Rainbow Bridge. 9/16/2023 7/31/2023 Mabel, better known as Mable Chicka/Mabel Chicken Nugget found herself needing a new home at 10 years of age. Foster mom Heidi fostered her for a month before Mabel stole her heart and she remained there as a forever family member. Mabel Chicken Nugget passed away a year and six months later after receiving an outpouring of love and care with Heidi. She was as sweet as could be and loved by many RCBR followers.
