Omar Kevin Jackson, better known as “Omie my homie”, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 27, 2023 after a brave battle with cancer and dementia. Omar was adopted in October 2020 by his new mom's Tee and Sheila and siblings Bryce and Harper from Rejection Collection Boxer Rescue. Omar was a very humble guy and gave no clues of the previous life he had. Omar accomplished a lot in his almost 3 years with his moms. He enjoyed road trips, camping, fishing, watching mama Tee play softball, shopping, sleep overs with Auntie Alison, scratches from his Nana, and when his human sisters, Rayghn and Jerney and great grandma Joyce would come visit. Omar was mostly annoyed with his cat siblings Bentley, Squeaker, and Oliver but his cat brother YogiBob was his comfort and he didn't mind cuddling with him at all. Most of all Omar loved being lazy!! In December 2021, Omar got a boxer cousin named Honey. Honey also was saved by Rejection Collection. Honey adored Omar sometimes a little to much, as she always made sure his eyeballs were clean! They definitely loved to take naps together!! Omar will be missed by so many! He was so lovable and always stylish in his new shirts and collars. Omar was so proud of the rescue that saved him. Especially his Auntie Stacy who started Rejection Collection. If you would like to donate in memory of Omar please reach out to Rejection Collection Boxer Rescue on Facebook. Mama Tee and Mama Sheila will always miss you and love you so much, Omar!! Until we meet again on Rainbow Bridge..... Leo crossed the rainbow bridge 1/5/2023 I was saddened to hear one of my fosters passed. It's always a hard thing to hear but I know Leo had a few wonderful years with his adoptive mom and fur brothers. His adopter described him as her snuggle buddy and I would have to agree. He loved his snuggles and always enjoyed being with his person. Being a senior he wasn't as active and his teeth were mostly gone, but he still enjoyed life. He is greatly missed by his family and foster. Duke crossed 3/20/2023 Sweet Duke only got to spend ten days in Minnesota. He arrived here having no use of his back legs at all. He was still a happy and loving boy. In those ten days he was loved so very much. He cuddled with former RCBR alum/foster fail Angel. They were like an old married couple. She was so smitten with him. He had the best soft and loving eyes and would curl up in my lap and quickly fall fast asleep. It was evident he was in pain and would not get any better. On his last day, he let me know it was time for his transition. We had a Birthday PAWty for him and he gobbled down his Meat Cake. He left a big impact on my heart in the short time he was here. Fly High Sweet Boy – I’ll catch you at the Rainbow Bridge. You were so very loved. Jana crossed 11/30/2022 It was a sad day in November when I had to let my best friend go. My first dog of my very own. She came into the house as just another foster my mom brought in. She knew that I needed her before I knew it. It was at a time in my life when I was just starting my recovery from a life of addiction. She became my best friend and my sober companion, who had no judgment, just total unconditional love. In the two short years she was with me, we had many adventures, including several camping trips along with countless miles walking the disc golf courses. She was the best-worst dog ever as my mom would say. She was so well-behaved and also terrible at the same time. I think it is the kind of thing only a Boxer can do. Such a lovely dork. She had the best vertical I have ever seen. She would jump what seemed like five feet straight up from a stand when it was time to go out. She was always waiting at the door, overjoyed when I came home from work. Then in only a few short days her body just gave up. She looked at me and said she needed to go but she would be waiting for me at the Bridge. My very own Janna Banana Nanner Beans. I will miss you forever and then even more. Thank you my Father of Heaven for sending her to me at exactly the right time. I am sorry for avoiding this for so long. Thank you for being patient and continuing to ask my mother about it. And thank you RCBR for allowing her into my house. She was a miracle and a blessing to me and my family. Alan Felix/Phil I have started this email so many times but was too sad to finish. Our family said goodbye to Phil 10 days ago. He completed his heartworm treatment, got partial hearing back with acupuncture/tincture of time, and was starting to regrow soft healthy hair and look so handsome. More importantly, he was beloved by every employee of Companion Animal Hospital and a good number of our clients who would ask to come around the desk to let him and say “hi”. He went to work with me nearly every day, occasionally skipping “work” on very cold days, as his Texas upbringing made him despise the cold and deeper snow. I have loved five good Boxers in my 60 years, and Phil was both the toughest and the most loving and pure of soul. How any creature at the age of nine, could move from the only home he had ever known, completely blind and deaf, yet immediately trust those around him to love him. He turned down his first meal ever during the last week of December. All of his lab work was normal. When he skipped eating another day the following week, he had full body X-rays and an ultrasound performed. We found cancer and fluid everywhere. His x-rays in October had been normal. He spent his very last moment on earth licking the bottom of his second pup cup of the evening, laying on his favorite bed at the clinic. My commute is lonely. Long live the memory and spirit of Phil. Sincerely, Thea and Jon, Kristian (who shared his bedroom with Phil), Maura and Natalie Fransen Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
