Liu Kang (RCBR Rudy)
In July of 2020, Liu Kang came into our lives. We have been boxer owners and lovers for many years and decided to add to our herd. Formerly known as Rudy, the first thing anyone noticed about Liu was how big he was. He was both physically large and also possessed a gigantic personality. He would knock you down with exuberance. He was also extremely gentle with our young daughter. Found as a stray, we didn’t know anything about his background but he was fully house trained, initially wouldn’t get on furniture (my husband changed that) and decided he liked it with us so much that he refused to ever leave the yard, even when we wanted to go for a hike. Unfortunately, soon after he came to us we noticed his gait was off in his hind end. This turned out to be DM and he deteriorated over the next two years to the point where his quality of life recently was such that humane euthanasia was the best option. He was very loved in his short two years with us and is dearly missed.

Lola (aka Merlot)
Lola (aka Merlot) Crossed the Bridge 2/17/24 Lola was the sweetest, most timid boxer we’d ever encountered. We provided her with a safe and quiet environment to help calm her nerves. She loved homemade dog food, soft treats, and string cheese. She really loved our boxer girl Lucy and seemed to be constantly observing her, almost as if she was trying to learn how to be a dog. My favorite part of the day would be when both dogs would be in the backyard and Lola would get the zoomies running around Lucy. She seemed so happy doing this! Almost every picture we have of Lola is on our bed, as this was always her favorite place to be. She opened our eyes as to how “broken” some puppy mill dogs can be and she will always hold a special place in our hearts and be so incredibly missed.

Lou
Lou was with us for a short time as a foster and was set to have his ACL repaired in the first few weeks. It turned out Lou had a lot more going on in his body than a torn ACL. It took several scans, tests and medications to find the source of his pain. Our sweet foster boy had Cancer that worked its way into his bones. Lou came into our lives as a foster, and we feel blessed that when he left it turns out we were his forever.

Lucky
My heart is completely broken. Lucky was the best dog ever. He was my snuggle buddy and sleeping buddy One day he had an infection in his leg and soon after he had difficulty breathing. Wasn’t long and he let me know the time had come. Run pain free at the Rainbow Bridge handsome boy.

Lucy
Lucy Crossed the Bridge 2/13/24 Miss Lucy was our first foster dog and quickly became our first foster “fail”. Despite being “dog selective”, having mastectomy surgery, Cushing’s Disease, Hypothyroidism, as well as a variety of skin conditions; she was the happiest girl and just wanted to be with her humans. She loved car rides, walks, and sleeping on all the furniture. Her favorite spot was our bed, often taking over my spot any time I moved out of it! This senior girl brought so much JOY to our family in her much too short time with us. She will be forever remembered and loved. Thank you RCBR for allowing us to love this wonderful dog and give her the life she deserved. Born 4/22/13 Lived her best life 8/21/22 - 2/13/24
